Have you ever wanted to go on a second honeymoon? Since I love to travel, I think planning a second honeymoon would be a wonderful excuse to get away.
While I enjoy vacationing with Kora and Logan, when we travel with them we are always on the go. Sometimes I find family vacations to be more exhausting than our regular home life! So I like to think a second honeymoon would be a great way to escape with Tired Dad Dave while we enjoyed a relaxing laid back vacation.
When Tired Dad Dave and I went on our honeymoon we flew into Las Vegas for two nights, rented a car, drove to San Diego for 5 nights, returned to Las Vegas for one night to hit everything we missed the first time around, and then flew home.
It was an amazing trip. We saw all the sites in Vegas and had no idea how big it was!
We had no plans for San Diego and spent a lot of time on the beach, visiting popular tourist destinations, and sleeping in.
We had a great time on our honeymoon and this summer we will celebrate our 8th anniversary and 15th year together. I think it’s the perfect opportunity to start planning a second honeymoon!
I’ve been looking into a number of different destinations and have decided that our second honeymoon must be somewhere exotic, with beautiful beaches and palm trees. A few places I’ve been dreaming about include:
- St. Lucia
- Santa Teresa Costa Rica
- Puerto Vallarta
While I enjoyed our domestic first honeymoon, I would love to do something completely different for our second. Of the four destinations I listed, a Costa Rica Honeymoon, is sounding more and more like it would be unique, memorable, relaxing, and fun.
With a nature reserve that includes three waterfalls and wildlife observation opportunities, ziplining, hiking, a small town for shopping, miles and miles of beautiful beaches offering white sand and gorgeous sunsets, Santa Teresa Costa Rica seems like the perfect combination of relaxation, adventure, and the perfect place for a second honeymoon for Tired Dad Dave and I.
I love trip planning but I need help on this one. Have you ever been to Costa Rica? What’s your favorite exotic vacation destination? Are you planning a second honeymoon?
