Living in Cleveland, we struggle through long, cold winters and chilly, damp Springs. One of my favorite ways to escape our ugly weather is to daydream about vacations. But I don’t just daydream.
I’ll visit travel sites, read reviews, take notes, and file everything away for the day when we’ve saved enough to take a trip. Then I’ll pour over everything I’ve jotted down in hopes of finding the perfect vacation.
After consulting my vacation file, I put together a great list of family vacation ideas every kid is sure to love.
5 Fun Family Vacation Ideas Your Kids Will Love
The number one thing I want to do with Kora & Logan as soon as we have enough money is go on a Disney Cruise. I’ve looked into their cruises and they look like so much fun for the whole family!
Their kids club gets rave reviews, which allows the children to have an incredible time while mom & dad soak up some sun or just hang out together for a bit.
There are also so many dining, activity, and off-shore excursion options the trip would be fun-filled and exciting. We did go to Disney World a year ago and Kora & Logan had a wonderful time and they would think it was amazing to see Mickey and friends on a big cruise boat.
I’ve only been to an all-inclusive resort once and had a fantastic time. It was so nice not having to worry about how much anything cost all week that I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I’ve heard good things about the Beaches Resorts and see them advertised on PBS quite a bit. The resort offers a nice kids club as well and plenty of child and family friendly activities to keep everyone busy and happy. To top it off they are all located in the Caribbean where warm weather is practically guaranteed.
This property is received the AAA Three Diamond Award for 2010/2011 and it site states it is “America’s Favorite Family Resort.” Rocking Horse Ranch offers 4 pools, 6 waterslides, 75 activities, and 100 horses on 500 acres all in Highland, NY.
It seems like such a different and unique vacation opportunity that I would enjoy taking not only my family but my extended family as well. I think everyone would have a great time at the magic shows, marshmallow roasts, the climbing wall, swimming pools, the unlimited horseback rides, and much more.
On my “Some Day” list is swimming with dolphins. I have always wanted to do this. It looks like so much fun and I think it’s something Tired Dad Dave and Kora & Logan would love too. It’s really a once in a lifetime experience that would create incredible memories for us all.
The Beach (Anywhere)
We are a family of beach-lovers especially Kora and I. We could stay outside on the beach all day. Tired Dad Dave and Logan enjoy the beach, but get too hot and usually have to head inside after awhile.
Building sandcastles, digging holes, finding shells, and playing in the water are all things we enjoy whether it’s for a couple minutes or hours on end. It doesn’t look like we’ll be flying to a beach destination anytime soon but if not, it’s okay because there are a number of great beaches in our area that we will be happy to spend our summer days at.
Those are my 5 fun family vacation ideas that I think kids will love.
