Cedar Point was just named the “Best Amusement Park in the World” for the 14th straight year in a row!
Amusement Today presented the Golden Ticket awards this week and not only did Cedar Point receive the prestigious award, but 5 of its coasters captured top billing as well.
Millenium Force was named “Best Steel Roller Coaster.” The coaster has earned the title for the second consecutive year and has now received the award 6 times since it was introduced in 2000.
Also in the “Best Steel Roller Coaster” category Top Thrill Dragster and the Magnum XL-200 finished 9th and 10th respectively.
And in the same category Raptor came in at 18th and Maverick, 21st.
On top of all of that, Dick Kinzel, CEO of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company which owns Cedar Point and 10 other amusement parks, was recognized for his examples of leadership, dedication, and achievement in the amusement industry by being selected to become a member of the Legends Series as the 2011 Publisher’s Pick.
Since being built in 1870, and as the second oldest amusement park, in North America, Cedar Point and its 75 rides and 17 roller coasters on the shores of Lake Erie keeps getting better each year and remains one of the most popular family vacation destinations in the country.
