We love to travel and that’s why we were very excited to be given the chance to be part of a press trip to Gulf County Florida. While on the trip we stayed at Casa Verde of Theresa’s Beach Homes. We adored this vacation rental. It was beautifully built and decorated, is very spacious, and has a lot of lovely little touches. On top of that it was just a short walk away to the beach.
Casa Verde is a new custom built 3 bedroom home in the WindMark Beach neighborhood in Gulf County Florida. When we first pulled up, we were immediately drawn to the large front porch and cozy seating. Over the course of our stay we spent many hours out on this porch rocking in the custom made Cypress rocking chairs. I loved that the porch wrapped around both sides so you can always move around to find some shade if the sun gets too strong.
When we walked into the house we were immediately impressed with layout of the house, the design, and the stylish beachy decor. The living room is in the front room and looks out onto the porch. The furniture is incredibly comfortable and the tv has lots of channels to choose from.
The kitchen is large and roomy. It’s very nicely done and we were pleased to find that the owners left us some snacks, cookies, coffee, and even some bagels for breakfast. All of the drawers and cupboards were filled with silverware, dishes, glassware, and more. As you can see there’s a nice large refrigerator, a stove, microwave, and dishwasher. While we didn’t have the opportunity while we were there, the kitchen is well equipped and makes it easy to prepare meals during your stay.
While there are three bedrooms, Casa Verde sleeps 8. There is a master bedroom that is beautiful. I found the bed to be very cozy and wished I could take it home with me! There is a nice dresser and closet and a large screen tv. I loved the private screened deck off the master that overlooks the pool. A perfect place to relax after a day at the beach.
There is a master bath off this bedroom as well. They did a great job offering storage space in this bathroom too and there is a nice custom tile walk in shower. I was also pleased to see that linens were provided throughout the house. We had plenty of towels and sheets and blankets to keep us happy while we were here. We didn’t have to bring anything along and had enough where we didn’t have to do laundry multiple times during our trip.
There is also a bedroom with two bunk beds with a nice flat screen tv and dvd player. This would be a perfect place for Kora and Logan and their cousins to stay. I could envision the excitement on the kids faces when they walked into this room to discover there was enough bunk beds for everyone! This would make an extended family beach vacation even more memorable and fun for the kids.
Just a step outside this bedroom is another bathroom. We didn’t get a chance to snap a picture of it but it’s a good size and would is great for guests staying in the rest of the house to use. The water was always warm in the tub/shower combo and there were plenty of towels in this bathroom as well.
There is a also a laundry room with an easy to use washer and dryer, iron, and ironing board. Laundry detergent pods were provided as well which I appreciated.
Out back of the house there is a swimming pool! It’s a wonderful pool that’s even heated. Dave and I hopped in a time or two and it was the perfect way to cool off at the end of the day. Sometimes I simply enjoyed sitting on the edge of the pool and letting my feet dangle in the water. This would be a huge hit with our kids, they love to swim. Knowing they had a pool right out the back door would have them ready to jump in anytime we said the word.
There is also an outdoor hot & cold shower so you can wash off after your swim or trip to the beach. As well as a charcoal grill so you can grill hamburgers and hot dogs or other beachy menu items.
I was happy to see there is a boardwalk a few steps away that leads to the beach. It’s not a long walk and it’s well worth it. We had the entire beach to ourselves when we were out there and were excited to see a number of amazing sunsets.
While we loved the house itself, the thing that stood out most about Casa Verde was the hospitality. As I mentioned above, when we arrived we found snacks, water, and coffee stocked for us in our kitchen. I also wrote about the plenty of towels & linens being provided. This was wonderful because we didn’t have to worry about bringing them with us or about doing laundry until the end of our stay.
We also found the cell phone booster to be very helpful. While we found service in various places Gulf County spotty, our service with both AT&T and Verizon was strong in the house and we didn’t run into any problems. The house also has free wifi and free long distance. The wifi was helpful when we needed to work and knowing the free long distance was available was comforting because our parents were watching the kids and we wanted to make sure they could get a hold of us if necessary.
Continuing on with the impressive hospitality, we were pleased to find that when we did have a little crab climb into our pool and we couldn’t find the skimmer, the owner replied to our email quickly and while we were out, brought over a skimmer and got the crab out of the pool. All through the exchange he was very pleasant and easy to communicate with and even though it was not an urgent manner by any means we appreciated his prompt response.
Casa Verde is in the WindMark community which itself has a number of wonderful amenities itself including:
- Large community pool
- Playground for kids
- Miles of trails for walking and biking
- Several shops and a restaurant
When we come down to Gulf County again we will be keeping our fingers crossed that Casa Verde will be available. Even if it’s not, we were so pleased with owner Ellis Smith’s hospitality and our stay, that we would gladly book one of their other properties. Ellis’s other vacation rentals include (click on the photos for more info):
McCosh Beach on Cape San Blas
Cottage By The Sea near WindMark
Grey Whale near Mexico Beach
This was a fantastic trip and we highly recommend staying at Casa Verde of Theresa’s Beach Homes when you visit. It’s like a home away from home and the perfect place to make beach vacation memories that will last a lifetime.
Press trip and accomodations provided. The honest opinions are my own.
